William Shatner, the iconic actor best known for his portrayal of Captain Kirk on TV’s Star Trek, will return to Broadway, according to The New York Post. Shatner’s one-man show Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It will play the Music Box Theatre for a limited run in February. No director or exact dates have been announced.
The one-man show is reportedly based on years of Q&As Shatner has done during book tours. The limited Broadway run will be followed by a 15-week national tour. Shantner’s World will fill the gap at the Music Box caused by the early closing of Private Lives. British comedy One Man, Two Guvnors is set to begin previews at the Music Box Theatre on March 15, 2012.
A two-time Emmy winner with five additional nominations to his name, Shatner’s many TV credits include Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, Rescue 911, The Practice and Boston Legal. He appeared on Broadway in the ‘50s and ‘60s in Tamburlaine the Great, The World of Suzie Wong and A Shot in the Dark.
